Experience

I am newly retired teacher of 30 years. Several of those years were in New Zealand. I began in the classroom at the elementary age group. When I got my Masters in Special Education I taught at all grade levels- high school, middle school and elementary school. I tutored in many different subjects within the school setting- specifically reading and writing and math. I worked for four years in a school for middle and high school behavioral challenged students. In this setting I taught English and Environmental Science. I was an Assistant Special Education Director for three years, supervising staff and students from pre-school through high school. I enjoy the one-one relationship a tutor has with a student, recording and responding to their achievements and challenges. I find students invariably like and respond to me very well.
